4 Night Yasawa Islands Cruise
This journey to sheltered bays and islands in the more remote Northern Yasawas promises warm beaches, warm smiles, coral to explore and spectacular sights such as the Sawa-I-Lau lagoon and volcanic peaks along the east coast of the island chain.
All cruises depart from and return to Denarau Marina, Nadi on Viti Levu.
Tuesday:
A late afternoon visit to Tivua Island - a sanctuary for breeding turtles and the almost extinct Bici flightless woodhen is your introduction to cruising the islands of Fiji. Swim, explore and relax before our Welcome Dinner aboard the Reef Escape.
Wednesday:
The day begins with a swim in the idyllic waters off Naviti Island, followed by a gourmet barbecue lunch and arrival at Vawa Bay on the Yasawa Island. Here is everyone's tropical island dream: white beaches, turquoise seas and water sports, of course. Away from the water guests can explore the beauties of the island itself. And as evening draws in, it is time for the fun and entertainment of their Pacific Island Night.
Thursday:
Crossing between Yasawa and Nacula Islands we reach tiny Sawa-I-Lau where a deep blue lagoon (featured in the Brooke Shields movie "Blue Lagoon") lies surrounded by the huge walls of an ancient limestone cave system. Mysterious inscriptions of unknown origin mark the entrance to the caves. Swimming here is a once in a lifetime experience. Sawa-I-Lau also delights with an escorted village walk including a special visit to the local school to see how Fijian village children learn. A village welcoming ceremony, lovo feast, kava tasting and meke take guests into the tropical evening.
Friday:
We cruise past the volcanic peaks of the Southern Yasawa Islands to reach Matacawa Levu for a shopping trip through the shell and handicraft markets. Then we pause at Drawaqa Island to snorkel or take the glass-bottomed boat over its fringing reefs, or bask on the warm white sand. A final run through the spectacular Naviti Channels takes us to our overnight anchorage for a farewell dinner.
On Saturday morning we return to Denarau.
